That's a Wrap, 2019.

2019 has been an exciting year in our adoption journey. While we applied and completed all of our initial paperwork in 2018, this was the year that things got exciting. A quick recap:

February 25, 2019 - We got "the call" with the file of the sweetest little three year old boy you could ever possibly imagine.

March 31, 2019 - Our agency, WACAP merged with Holt. This added some paperwork and resulted in a bit of change. Thankfully, however, it did not slow down the process at all.

May 7, 2019 - We received word that the board officially approved our referral.

July 2019 - I attended the Thai Family Reunion in Rochester and was able to meet several other families who have adopted from Thailand. We look forward to attending more of these in the future with Non. :)

Also in July, we had a chance to visit with the Hinh family in San Antonio. It was so great to hear about their experiences with the TRC and to meet their adorable little guy that they brought home a couple of years ago.

August 6 and 8, 2019 - We received a few updated photos and our first video of Non. This was so exciting!!

October 2019 - We updated our home study and filed for an extension of our 1-800A (important immigration paperwork on the US side).

November 12, 2019 - Another photo and video update that was completely unexpected. :)

November 23 and 29, 2019 - We were showered with love (and lots of sweet gifts) by members of both Tim's and my extended families as well as a lot of friends. It was such a tremendous blessing to see just how loved Non is even now while we await his homecoming.

December 17, 2019 - ANOTHER update. We received photos, videos, and a thorough assessment that was completed by Holt social workers on a recent visit to the orphanage.

We've also spent a bit of time getting his room ready for his arrival. It has been so much fun. We still have some final projects left to do before he comes home, but we are well on our way to having it ready. :)

We are eagerly awaiting all that will come in 2020. The family who was matched just ahead of us was informed that they will likely travel in February and March. We are awaiting notification from the Thai government that will be the next step towards travel. Please pray with us for travel dates in either March or April. We so look forward to bringing our sweet boy home to begin this journey as a family of three.

I'm pretty sure 2020 is going to be our best year yet!
